World of SMT: Demons and Personas

Haven’t done one of these in a while.

In the world of Shin Megami Tensei, there are creatures that go by different names, usually as demons or Personas. Today, I want to talk about the main reason people play these games. Let’s start with larger umbrella that is demons.

World of Metal Gear: Metal Gears

In the world craeted by Hideo Kojima, there are these giant mech titans called Metal Gears, and many of the story lines revolve around them as they usually have apocalyptic qualities.

World of Type Moon: Servants

Servants are like super familiars. They are spirits heroes and monsters from present, past, and the future that are summoned with the power of the Holy Grail to participate in the Holy Grail War. They are summoned by mages known as Masters. As servants have real identity that may be recorded somewhere, they should hide their true name, some does it better than others, here is looking at you Gilgamesh. Hiding their name as well as categorizing, Servants fall under certain classes. There is the Standard classes, and there are a few that defies the standard. Standard Classes include: Saber, Archer, Lancer, Rider, Assassin, Caster and Berserker.

There will be some spoilers ahead. And I will be mainly focusing the main series, so things like Fate/ Extra, Grand Order, andso on are just brief mentions.

World of Type Moon: Holy Grail War

As many of Type Moon’s IPs are inter related, I thought it would make sense to say World of Type Moon opposed to World of Fate.

World of One Piece: Marine Admirals

It has been awhile since I blabbed about One Piece, so here we go.

The pride and the might of the Marines in the world of One Piece, the three admirals. These soldiers are so powerful they can change landscape and weather of an island permanently. They can also summon Buster Call, an island destroying maneuver, at will. They don’t take orders from many people, exceptions being the Gorosei of the World Government (link here) and the Fleet Admiral.

World of SMT: Negotiation

In the world of Shin Megami Tensei, demons can be negotiated with. This mechanic is not present in all SMT games, the popular games without this mechanic being Persona 3 and Persona 4. Simply put, deal with the devil to get more power, or money, or be scammed.

World of the Witcher: the Witcher

As I played through the Witcher games, I realized how isolated the Witchers are, no one really likes them.
